RESVERATROL FAQ

SHARING OUR KNOWLEDGE

We are committed not only to bringing you the best coffee we can find but also the best information about its health benefits

Each cup of Vera Coffee contains as much resveratrol as a glass of red wine.

Not sure what resveratrol is? We've got you covered!

What is resveratrol?

Resveratrol is a class of plant micronutrients called polyphenols. Polyphenols are organic chemicals that plants make to survive drought or attack from disease. These compounds are found in plant foods and have a variety of health benefits.

A naturally occurring chemical that has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Resveratrol has been the subject of extensive research in many different areas, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, inflammation, anti-aging, anti-cancer, brain tumours to breast, colon, prostate cancers and many more.

Resveratrol also has research on its benefits with Dementia and Alzheimer’s, heart disease, diabetes, eyesight and weight loss. This large field of research has yielded both noteworthy results and noteworthy criticism. Longer lifespans have been linked to resveratrol, especially when calorie intake is controlled.

What are resveratrol benefits

Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. First off, resveratrol has a lot of systemic benefits due to its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Neuro Defense. Resveratrol has been observed to have protective effects on the neurological system in addition to its advantages for the circulatory system. Age-defying.

Resveratrol and Weightloss

What foods have resveratrol in them?

  • Red wine
  • red grapes (especially the skin and seeds)
  • wine
  • peanuts
  • cocoa
  • blueberries
  • bilberries
  • cranberries
  • lingonberries
  • mulberries
  • fresh grapes
  • pistachios
  • peanut butter
  • cocoa powder
  • dark chocolate
  • milk chocolate
  • strawberries
  • red currants

Can resveratrol help you lose weight?

Resveratrol may have a range of effects on the body, including a widening of blood vessels and a reduction in blood clotting.

The protection of the heart and circulatory system, lowering of cholesterol, and prevention of blood clots that can cause heart attacks and strokes are just a few of the many health benefits of resveratrol that have been promoted. Animal tests indicate that it might lower blood sugar levels.

Resveratrol and Heart Health

How can resveratrol help maintain the health of your heart?

Trans-resveratrol, on the other hand, is an anti-inflammatory that, regardless of cholesterol levels or particle size, softens the artery walls, thins the blood, enhances blood flow, and so avoids heart attacks.

Can resveratrol prevent heart attacks?

Resveratrol, which was initially used to treat cancer, can be used to prevent or treat a number of degenerative and cardiovascular diseases, including atherosclerosis, hypertension, ischemia/reperfusion, and heart failure.

Can resveratrol improve the cardiovascular system?

Studies show resveratrol has been shown to; lower cholesterol, prevent blood clots that can cause heart attacks and strokes, and support the heart and circulatory system

Can resveratrol lower blood pressure?

By boosting the generation of nitric oxide, resveratrol may help reduce blood pressure. Numerous research on animals indicate that resveratrol therapy may have a favorable impact on blood fats.

A 2015 evaluation found that high doses may reduce the force that the heart's contractions exert on arterial walls.

This type of pressure, which is identified by the greater number in blood pressure readings, is known as systolic blood pressure. Systolic blood pressure often increases with aging as arteries become more stiff.

Heart disease risk is increased by it. Resveratrol causes blood vessels to release nitric oxide more frequently, which may be how it reduces blood pressure.

Can Resveratrol assist in combating against cancer?

Experts already claim resveratrol can help fight cancer from brain tumours to breast, colon, prostate cancers and many more. Resveratrol also has research on its benefits with Dementia and Alzheimer’s, heart disease, diabetes, eyesight and weight loss.

How does resveratrol support brain function?

Another study found that sulforaphane and other ITCs preserved vascular elasticity and prevented oxidative blood vessel aging by activating Nrf2 in endothelial cells. ITCs also aid in preserving the blood-brain barrier integrity, a vascular system essential for healthy brain tissue operation.

These green vegetables are crucial for optimal heart health and the maintenance of a maximum life span, according to nutritional science.

A study on the ITC sulforaphane, which is present in broccoli, showed, for example, that once activated, Nrf2 decreases the activity of adhesion molecules on the surface of endothelial cells to prevent the attachment of inflammatory cells and thereby postpone the development of atherosclerotic plaque.

Resveratrol and Inflammation

How does resveratrol affect cell structure?

Resveratrol modulates cell cycles and multiple pathways involved in cell growth, apoptosis, senescence, and inflammation, which has mostly observed in laboratory models.

In vitro studies indicate that biological effects of resveratrol on cellular senescence or other cell processes may vary depending on cell types and certain contexts.

Can resveratrol treat arthritic pain?

Resveratrol has anti-inflammatory properties that make it a useful treatment for skin and arthritic inflammation. Additionally, resveratrol possesses antibacterial and antifungal characteristics that aid in the treatment of infections of the digestive and urinary systems.

In what way can resveratrol help reduce inflammation?

Resveratrol potential contribution to the decrease of inflammation. Prostaglandins, which are metabolic byproducts of cyclooxygenase activity, play a part in the inflammatory response.

Resveratrol and Aging

Here's what you can look forward to by applying an antioxidant like resveratrol to your skin:

  • Smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Improved elasticity: Adding resveratrol to your skincare routine can boost skin firmness.
  • Calmed inflammation.
  • Lessened discoloration: If you have hyperpigmentation, reseveratrol can help mitigate the appearance of dark spots.

Slow Effects of Aging

One of the main benefits of resveratrol is its ability to reduce the effects of aging in skin.

“As we age, we lose our natural collagen and elastin. We begin to experience a thinning of the skin,” explains Dr. Tanya Kormeili, board certified dermatologist in Santa Monica, California.

“Antioxidants are thought to help protect against the accelerated aging effect of free radical damage.”

How does resveratrol protect aging in the central nervous system?

First off, resveratrol has many systemic benefits due to its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It prevents the central nervous system from deteriorating.

Age-related cognitive deficiencies, whether or not they are due to AD, have been demonstrated to be correlated with higher levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS).

Because of its capacity to scavenge free radicals and metals (such as copper) and to activate endogenous antioxidant enzymes like glutathione ( gsh, resveratrol exhibits strong antioxidant activity.

A NEW EXPERIENCE | OUR ORIGINS STORY

The perfect cup of coffee requires many hands, including those of the farmers who tend to the red-ripe coffee cherries, the expert roasters who extract the greatest flavor from each bean, and the shipper who carefully packages it.

This is Glen Miller, founder of Vera Roasting Company. And this is the story of how resveratrol found its way into Vera Coffee. I'm an organic chemists and have been practicing organic chemistry for many years and about 30 years ago I became aware of resveratrol for the first time. Not because I was doing any research involving resveratrol, but because I read about it in the news.

People were very interested in red wine and the heart health benefits of red wine and were very curious to know what is it inside the red wine that makes it heart healthy? A lot of work was going on all over the world really, and has continued to go on all over the world for the last 30 years. And the vast majority of that work which has been published in scientific and medical journals.
